I live in Washington DC.  Before I retired, I was a public interest lawyer and taught university students about the role of government.  Before COVID-19, I travelled widely and often, interacting with foreign cultures through street photography.   My images of Cuba, Guatemala, Myanmar, Peru, and Mexico were displayed throughout the halls of the Carlos Rosario International School for Adult Immigrants where I volunteered to teach ESL.  In 2012, I won First Place in the Washington Post Travel Photo Contest for my image, "Dove over Havana."
In 2020 venues for photography were limited, as was interaction with other photographers.  Fortunately, I had just connected with the creative British duo Valda Bailey and Doug Chinnery.  Zooming with them through the Abstract Rhythm and Blue Notes classes, I fully embraced improvisation and collage, adding multiple exposure and Intentional Camera Movement for increased abstraction.  I continue to be an active participant in their new online international community of photographic artists - https://FYV.art - and stay connected to other artists through the Women’s Caucus for Art.  I am a member of the Studio Gallery, Washington, DC's oldest artist owned gallery. https://www.studiogallerydc.com
